  • Rope Candle Holder

Happy Weekend! I just finished up a very easy and inexpensive rope candle holder project. I have candles everywhere. They are an easy way to decorate. And a great way to add a punch of color! But I thought they needed a bit of embellishment. ūüėČ Take a look… 1. ¬†I bought the glass vase at the Dollar Store. ¬†It worked well for this craft because it has a lip at the bottom that helped hold the rope in place. 2. ¬†The glass was wrapped with parchment paper. Tape does not stick to parchment paper so I used a long piece of packaging tape to wrap all the way around…

  • Creating a Wall Collage

I’ve been wanting to create a wall collage of old family pictures. Seemed like a simple thing to do. Not so when you can’t make up your mind. ūüėČ I bought and returned more frames than I care to admit, then ended up using all the ones I already had. Saved a bunch of money… not so much on time. But that’s okay! Old pictures are so beautiful. I have several from the 1920’s and 1930’s of my grandparents. I’m not completely finished with the wall collage, but it’s close. Aside from figuring out the arrangement of the frames, this was an easy and inexpensive way to update a wall.…

  • Rolled Sheet Music Christmas Wreath

Tis the season to be jolly! It’s also the season to get your craft on!¬†My mind is spinning with ideas for Christmas decorations! I had old sheet music left over from last year’s project, as well as a MDF wreath form. After spending an entire day making paper rosettes (and scalding my fingers with my “low heat” glue gun!), I have my first holiday wreath completed. I found a tutorial for making the¬†rosettes here. They are very simple to make, but really time-consuming. It’s a great thing to do while catching up on recorded TV shows! It’s also a fabulous thing to do if you just want to stay in…

  • DIY Framed Display Shelf – update

Framed Display Shelf – Update I finally finished the DIY framed display shelf and it’s now hanging in my sewing room/office.¬† WooHoo!¬† Click here to read the first post showing the shelf in progress. The frame was painted in white spray paint and the edges sanded for a distressed look.¬† I used¬†beadboard¬†wallpaper on the sides, top and bottom of the frame.¬† Very easy to apply with spray adhesive.¬† The¬†corners of the box¬†are framed out with moulding left over from the doll house project.¬† I love this shelf!¬† Hmmm… and¬†I have so many more empty¬†frames lying around! ¬†

  • DIY Framed Display Shelf

DIY Framed Display Shelf – Tutorial Every year begins with not a New Year’s resolution, but as a new¬†year to redecorate!¬† My family has come to expect that changes will take place after Christmas.¬† I love change… as long as I’m the one making them!¬† haha! I have a collection of pictures I no longer like.¬† I keep them around for the frames.¬† Not that I alway know what I’m going to do with them, but I just can’t throw them away.¬† This frame came from a picture that I bought eight years ago when I decorated our new house for the first time.¬† Now it is getting a new…
